Affordable Therapy in Edmonton – $45 Sessions
Affordable Therapy in Edmonton - $45 Per Session
Starting therapy is a big step. Cost shouldn't be what holds you back. At Aligned Minds Counseling and Therapy in Edmonton, we offer supervised student therapy sessions at $45 per session - professional, evidence-based support at a rate that's actually accessible.
How Our Affordable Therapy Program Works
Our affordable therapy sessions are provided by graduate-level student therapists completing the final stage of their Master's degree in Social Work or Counselling.
Every session is supervised by Katie Borek, a Registered Social Clinical Worker with a Master's in Social Work and over a decade of clinical experience.
This means you get two sets of eyes on your care- a dedicated therapist who is motivated, current in their training, and fully supported by an experienced clinician.
Sessions are 50 minutes, available in-person in Edmonton or online across Alberta.

What You Can Expect
Therapy is a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s been feeling difficult, and begin to move forward in a more intentional way.
Clients often come in for support with:
-
Anxiety and overthinking
-
Stress and burnout
-
Low mood
-
Relationship or communication challenges
-
Life transitions
Sessions are collaborative and paced in a way that works for you.
Cost and Coverage
Sessions with our student therapist are $45 per 50-minute session.
When our student therapist holds registration as a Social Worker (RSW), sessions may be eligible for reimbursement through some extended health benefit plans. Coverage varies by plan. Contact us and we can help you find out what applies to your benefits.
No referral is needed to book.
In-Person and Online Therapy Options
We offer in-person sessions at our Strathearn clinic at 9406 91 Street, minutes from downtown Edmonton and Whyte Ave. Online sessions are available to anyone in Alberta.
This allows you to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible, whether you prefer meeting in person or connecting from home.
Continuity of Care
Student placements are time-limited, and we do our best to make transitions feel as smooth as possible.
When there is overlap between students, this can allow for a more gradual handoff. Other options can also be discussed based on your needs.
Is This the Right Fit?
This can be a good option if you are looking for a more affordable way to start therapy, and feel open to working with a therapist in training within a supervised setting.
If you’re unsure, we’re happy to help you figure out whether this feels like the right fit.
